After you've added about 1 tbsp of oil and it's been well incorporated, you can drizzle the oil in rather than adding it drop by drop. After half of the oil is added, alternate a bit of lemon juice with a bit of oil. Don't stop for long while mixing; it's necessary to keep stirring, stopping only for very brief periods. When finished the toum will have a similar consistency to thick mayonnaise."],"categories":["Lebanese recipes","Recipes for sauces and condiments","Recipes using garlic","Recipes using lemon juice"],"prep_time_minutes":null,"cook_time_minutes":null,"total_time_minutes":null,"servings":null,"yield_text":"1 cup","difficulty":"medium","source_name":"wikibooks","source_url":"https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Cookbook:Toum_(Lebanese_Garlic_Sauce)","source_ref":"4519034","authors_url":"https://en.wikibooks.org/w/index.php?title=Cookbook:Toum_(Lebanese_Garlic_Sauce)&action=history","license":"CC BY-SA 4.0","license_url":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/","extraction_confidence":null,"content_hash":"23edbf5a3526ab051951d0ea4d129ba57cbe7a912fa8b24f5ce69a868494097a","created_at":"2026-08-02T14:43:29Z","updated_at":"2026-08-02T14:43:29Z","notice":null,"url":"https://recipecontextprotocol.com/recipes/toum-lebanese-garlic-sauce"}
